Reb Deb is Spiritual Leader of Havurah Or Ha-Lev (Light of the Heart) Jewish Congregation in Mt. Arlington, New Jersey, the only Jewish Renewal-affiliated Congregation in Northern New Jersey. A havurah is an informal fellowship of like-minded Jews who gather together for periodic prayer and study. Havurah Or Ha-Lev is composed of individuals and couples, some of whom are synagogue-affiliated and some who are unaffiliated. Or Ha-Lev welcomes the affiliated and non-affiliated, individuals, couples, families with children, and interfaith families.
Havurah Or Ha-Lev meets for monthly Friday evening services on the first Friday of each month. We also meet for monthly Shabbat morning services. Creative worship services are enhanced by a musical ensemble, meditation and lively Torah discussions. Friday evening Services are followed by a festive oneg and are also often preceded by a potluck dinner. Shabbat morning services are followed by Kiddush and potluck lunch and Torah study sessions. The havurah has occasional Havdalah services followed by educational programs, celebrates Jewish holidays, takes occasional field trips, and gathers for regular study sessions and book group meetings. For specific location of services and for specific Shabbat morning worship schedule, or for more information, please contact Reb Deb.
Havurah Or Ha-Lev is located in Mt. Arlington, NJ, 35 minutes from Morristown and convenient to Routes 80 and 287 in New Jersey.
